Things to do Around and About
Charlestown

Tall Ships lies on the South Coast of Mid-Cornwall,
one mile from St Austell and approximately 15 miles from the city of Truro,
with its magnificent catherdral and its atmospheric shopping centre with its Malls and markets....

Charlestown is on the entrance to the Roseland Peninsula with its most diverse landscape....
There is the quaint fishing village of Mevagissey and the wonderful estuary of Carrick Roads and the village of St Mawes and its castle, overlooking the popular tourist town of Falmouth.

Coastline

Along the South coast of Cornwall you will find many picturesque towns and villages such as Looe, Portloe, Mousehole & Lamorna Cove to name but a few and all can be easily reached by car for those special days out.....the North Coast, tends to be more rugged and wild and is home to the larger and busier tourist towns and villages such as
St Ives, Porthtowan, Padstow and Boscastle,
again all within easy driving distance for days out.....

If you prefer to take in the scenery at a much slower pace and in more detail, the beautiful coastal path is just a few minutes walk away from Tall Ships and the Roseland villages of Mevagissey, Gorran Haven, Portholland, & Portloe, to name but a few, are all within walking distance for the more energetic....
If you prefer the boat, you can take the ferry from Mevagissey to Fowey, or alternatively you may take the ferry from St Mawes across to Falmouth. both wonderful trips....
Another interesting car trip to Truro is via the Old King Harry Ferry, across the River Fal to Trelissick Gardens (n.t) which are most spectacular......

We also recommend a visit to the Lost Gardens of Heligan if you are interested in gardens, there is a wonderful walled vegetable garden and an interesting wild life centre....
There is of course also the famous Eden Project, Lanhydrock House & Gardens and Pine Lodge Gardens, all within a few minutes drive....

For those Golf lovers, we are ideally situated with four 18 hole golf courses
all within a short distance:
